Look The Same.

A shutter that does nothing when you press the button could be the motor, the control panel, the isolator, a remote, a photocell, a bottom safety edge, or the thermal cut-out doing its job. They all present identically, which is why guessing at parts is expensive.

Our engineers test the circuit properly before replacing anything, so you're not paying for a new motor when the fault was a £20 limit switch.

Get Asked.

My electric shutter has no power at all — what's the first check?
The isolator and the fuse or breaker feeding it. It's surprising how often a shutter is 'dead' because something tripped the supply. If those are fine, it's a control or motor fault and needs testing.
The remote doesn't work but the key switch does — what's wrong?
That points at the remote handset, its battery, or the receiver rather than the motor. Handsets are usually reprogrammable and receivers are a straightforward replacement.
The shutter goes up but not down — why?
Almost always a safety device. Photocells and bottom safety edges are designed to stop closing when they detect an obstruction or a fault, so a dirty or damaged one blocks downward travel.
Can a shutter motor be repaired rather than replaced?
Sometimes — brakes, capacitors and limit switches are all replaceable. A motor with burnt windings has to be replaced, and we'll tell you which you've got.
Do you work on three-phase shutters?
Yes. Three-phase motors on industrial and loading bay doors are routine work for us.
Can you add remote control to an existing shutter?
Usually, yes. Most electric shutters can have a receiver and handsets retrofitted, and we can add timers or key switches at the same time.
