Are perforated shutters as secure as solid ones?
A solid curtain of the same gauge is stronger — perforation removes material. In practice a well-specified punched curtain deters and resists attack perfectly well on most high streets, but for a high-risk site we'd recommend solid.
Will my insurer accept one?
Usually, but check your policy wording before ordering. Some specify a minimum standard, and we'd rather specify to that than have you find out afterwards.
Can I have part perforated and part solid?
Yes — a common arrangement is solid over the door and punched across the display window.
Do they cost more than solid shutters?
Slightly, because of the extra process. The difference is usually modest against the value of keeping your window working overnight.
Can you replace a solid curtain with a perforated one?
Often yes, using the existing barrel and motor if they're sound and rated for it. We'll confirm on survey.
