Spring Repair
A counterbalance spring carries the weight of the curtain. When it snaps or loses tension the shutter becomes heavy, drops fast and puts the motor under load it was never designed for.
Why It Matters
A Spring Is The
Most Dangerous Part.
Counterbalance springs are wound under enormous tension so the motor only has to move the curtain, not lift its full weight. When one fails the shutter becomes several times heavier overnight — it can slam shut, jam halfway, or burn the motor out within days.
This is not a DIY job under any circumstances. A wound shutter spring released without the right bars and technique causes serious injuries. If yours has gone, leave the shutter alone and ring us.
Loud Bang
A sharp crack followed by a heavy shutter is a classic snapped spring.
Heavy To Lift
A manual shutter that suddenly takes real effort has lost tension.
