A Break-In.

Our shutter has been forced open — can you come out tonight?
Yes. Break-in damage is the definition of an emergency callout for us. The first job is making the opening secure so the premises aren't left exposed overnight, then we quote and carry out the permanent repair.
Can a shutter damaged in a break-in be repaired, or does it need replacing?
It depends on what's been hit. Individual bent slats and a buckled bottom rail can usually be replaced without a new curtain. Where the guides have been pulled off the wall or the barrel is distorted, a replacement is normally the safer call — and we'll tell you honestly which it is.
Will you make the premises secure before repairing it?
Always. Getting the building closed and locked comes first, even if the full repair has to happen the next working day once parts are made up.
Do you provide photos and a report for our insurance claim?
We can supply a written report and photographs of both the damage and the repair work, which is normally what insurers ask for after forced entry or a vehicle impact.
How quickly can you replace damaged slats?
We manufacture in our own Yorkshire warehouse, so replacement slats and bottom rails are made in days rather than waiting weeks on an outside supplier.
Can you fit a more secure shutter after a break-in?
Yes — that's a common request afterwards. Solid or reinforced curtains, heavier bottom rails, anti-lift devices and stronger locking all make a repeat attempt considerably harder, and we'll advise on what suits the opening.
