A single-skin shutter is a sheet of steel between your workforce and a Yorkshire winter. An insulated curtain is a foam-filled double-skin lath, which holds warmth in the building, cuts the drumming noise on operation, and resists impacts far better.

Is an insulated shutter worth the extra cost?
On a heated building with a large opening, usually yes — the heat retained across a winter is significant. On an unheated store it's mostly about noise and strength.
How much quieter are they?
Noticeably. The foam core damps the drumming that makes single-skin curtains loud, which is often what settles complaints from neighbouring residential property.
Are insulated shutters more secure?
The double-skin lath is stiffer and stands up better to impacts and levering than a single skin, so yes, generally more resistant.
Can an insulated curtain fit my existing guides?
Sometimes, but not always — insulated lath is thicker and heavier, so guides, barrel and motor all need checking. We assess that at survey.
What finishes are available?
Standard mill finish plus powder coating to your chosen colour, inside and out if required.
Do you fit them on shopfronts as well as warehouses?
Yes — insulated curtains work well on retail units where noise on opening early in the morning is an issue.
